Jim Begley received his Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park and his Masters at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts.
He has almost 20 years of experience and began his engineering career at Lockheed Martin Energy Systems in Oak Ridge, TN. After relocating to Las Vegas in 2002, Mr. Begley was responsible for hospitality projects such as Caesars Palace, Hard Rock Hotel, the Palms Casino, Bally’s and Paris Hotel Resort while managing the Las Vegas Regional Office of Schirmer Engineering. In May 2005 Mr. Begley joined JBA Consulting Engineers as the Director of Fire Protection Engineering and became Director of Domestic Business Development in 2008. After almost five years with JBA Consulting Engineers, he established TERPconsulting in February 2011.
Mr. Begley is a registered professional Fire Protection Engineer in 20 states. While at the University of Maryland, Mr. Begley was awarded membership to the Salamander honorary fire protection engineering fraternity. Mr. Begley is past President of the Southern Nevada Society of Fire Protection Engineers and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Society of Fire Protection Engineers on an international level.
