Lanny Ray has over 17 years of experience and began his engineering career in 1996 at SimplexGrinnell in Washington D.C. After relocating to Las Vegas in 2001, Mr. Ray continued his career with SimplexGrinnell‘s Las Vegas office as a project engineer and designed fire alarm, detection and clean agent systems for various building types, eventually being promoted to project manager in 2002. In this role Mr. Ray managed various types of fire alarm and detection system design and installation projects.
In July 2004 Mr. Ray joined the Las Vegas office of Schirmer Engineering Corporation as a fire protection consultant. As a fire protection consultant, Mr. Ray provided fire protection and accessibility consulting services while also serving as an MQAA special inspector for smoke control systems.
In February 2006 Mr. Ray joined the Las Vegas office of JBA Consulting Engineers as a fire protection consultant. While at JBA, Mr. Ray provided fire protection and accessibility consulting services while also serving as an MQAA special inspector for smoke control systems. Mr. Ray also prepared smoke control diagrams for high-rise properties for their mechanical engineering department. In addition, Mr. Ray served as the lead special inspector and Quality Control Manager for the smoke control testing program at JBA.
In January 2011, Mr. Ray joined TERPconsulting as a Principal for the company. Currently, he serves as the Treasurer of the Southern Nevada Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SNSFPE).
