Clay Orr

fire protection design intern

Clay Orr is a junior at Southern Utah University (SUU) pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology with an emphasis in Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM). With an anticipated graduation date of May 2027, Clay brings a strong academic foundation—holding a 3.5 GPA—and a passion for applying technology in innovative ways.

This summer, Clay is gaining hands-on experience as a fire protection design intern with TERPconsulting’s CAD Union, where he is contributing to technical design projects and honing his drafting and modeling skills in a real-world consulting environment. At SUU, Clay is an active member of the engineering department’s Virtual Reality (VR) club, where he collaborates with fellow students to explore immersive technology applications in engineering and design. Outside the classroom, he enjoys combining creativity and precision through designing and 3D printing custom models, often using his skills to prototype functional components and explore new fabrication techniques.

Clay’s enthusiasm for engineering design and his drive to learn make him a valuable addition to the TERPconsulting team this summer.
