Surviving Station Nightclub Fire

Remembering The Station Nightclub Fire

The Station nightclub fire in W. Warwick, RI, occurred on this day in 2003. The blaze prompted the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to enact tough new code provisions for fire sprinklers and crowd management in nightclub-type venues. Those provisions mark sweeping changes to the codes and standards governing safety in assembly.

Today we remember the fourth deadliest nightclub fire in U.S. history and the 100 lives that were lost.
