Gary prepares egress drawings and fire alarm design using his expertise in drawing preparation (AutoCAD and Revit) in his role as a fire protection designer. He has prepared egress drawings for such iconic projects as the Las Vegas Raiders headquarters, Circa Resort & Casino, and UNLV School of Medicine, all in Las Vegas, NV. His fire alarm design talents have been practiced across the world for projects that include the Apache Hangar Warehouse (United Arab Emirates), Grant Sawyer State Office Building (Las Vegas, NV), Cloud Kitchen (Phoenix, AZ), Meow Wolf Denver (Denver, CO), LATTC Design and Media Arts Building (Los Angeles, CA), and Hoover Dam Visitors Center (Boulder City, NV). Gary’s smoke control testing expertise has been applied to the Levi Strauss distribution center (Henderson, NV) as well as the Wynn FCC Relocation and UNLV Gateway, both in Las Vegas, NV.

In addition to his skills as a designer, Gary has experience in building and life safety code consulting, designing fire protection systems (including fire alarm, detection, and means of egress systems), preparing tenant improvement and fire protection reports, and conducting third-party smoke control special inspections.

Gary joined TERPconsulting in 2018 as a fire protection designer. Before that, he worked at JBA Consulting Engineers (now NV5) performing electrical layouts which included the design of small- to medium-sized buildings of mixed complexity ranging from commercial to high-end hospitality and everything in between. While at JBA Gary was the electrical CAD/BIM representative and contributed to writing the CAD standards manual for the company as well as managing the electrical drafters to ensure CAD standards were followed. Additionally, he conducted Revit training for JBA’s electrical department.

Gary is National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)-certified in Level 1 Fire Alarm Systems and a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).
