Eric T. Johnson

Eric utilizes his experience in fire code to assist clients with the review of plans to achieve code compliance associated with their life safety/fire protection systems. In his capacity as a fire protection consultant at TERPconsulting, Eric is responsible for not only code consulting services but also for developing permits and performing on-site inspections.
He has been involved in many fire safety design projects for a range of sites, in the categories of transportation, hotels and casinos, commercial buildings, government and municipal, and schools.
Prior to joining TERPconsulting in 2021, Eric worked for the U.S. National Park Service as a Structural Fire Protection intern. The internship gave him experience performing fire safety/fire alarm inspections and developing egress plans to be posted in buildings on the National Mall as well as coordinating with both local and federal agencies including the FBI and ATF to ensure safety at the Washington, D.C. 4th of July fireworks display. Additionally, he performed fire safety/alarm inspections on most of the buildings/structures on the National Mall including Ford’s Theatre, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial.
Eric has a bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is currently working towards his engineering-in-training certification.
