Established in 2010, TERPconsulting is a mid-sized fire protection engineering and code consulting firm with offices in Baltimore, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York City, and Phoenix.

FIRE ALARM SYSTEM DESIGNER

Fire alarm designer with a minimum two years’ experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for layout and design of various building types and industries.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum two years’ experience with AutoCAD or Revit
• NICET Fire Alarm Systems Layout Level II is preferred
• Experience in fire protection or related engineering field
• An interest in working with a small team focused on results
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and productivity applications
• Flexible schedule and work location.

CODE CONSULTANT

A code consultant with a minimum two years’ experience in fire protection engineering and code consulting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for field inspections, writing technical reports and cultivating new and existing client relationships. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, and willingness to learn.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• B.S. or M.S. in Fire Protection Engineering
• Minimum two years’ relevant experience in fire protection
engineering and code consulting.
• Ability to understand and communicate technical issues as they pertain to building and fire codes and standards.
• Professional engineering license or desire to obtain license.
• An interest in working with a small team focused on results.
• AutoCAD and/or Revit experience a plus.
• Fire modeling experience a plus.
• Special inspection and other field experience a plus.
• Flexible schedule and work location.

SPRINKLER SYSTEM DESIGNER

A  sprinkler designer with a minimum two years’ experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for layout and design of various building types and industries.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two years or more experience with AutoSPRINK
• NICET Water-based Systems Layout Level II preferred
• Experience in fire protection or related engineering field
• An interest in working with a small team focused on results
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and productivity applications
• Flexible schedule and work location.

Our team has years of work experience, degrees in fire, mechanical and electrical engineering, pulling from some of the best universities in the country. We have fire protection engineering graduates from Oklahoma State UniversityWorcester Polytechnic Institute, and of course the University of Maryland (the Terps!).  Our team members are primarily degreed fire protection engineers with a well-rounded sense of fire/life safety requirements based on familiarity with codes and standards from years of working within the industry and serving on National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and International Code Council (ICC) technical committees.
