As a fire protection engineer at TERPconsulting, Jesse Lumpa specializes in water-based fire suppression system design and pump system engineering. His expertise encompasses developing hydraulic calculations, system layouts, and compliance strategies to ensure the effective implementation of fire protection solutions.

Jesse has contributed to high-profile projects during his tenure at TERPconsulting. Notable highlights include serving as Engineer of Record for a confidential U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project and leading the fire suppression design for an undisclosed EV factory. One of his most prominent achievements is his work on McGregor Square in downtown Denver, where he designed and secured permitting for the fire suppression system, including detailed hydraulic calculations and coordination with key stakeholders.

Before joining TERPconsulting in 2021, Jesse built a strong foundation in fire protection system design. At Frontier Fire Protection, he designed wet, dry, pre-action, and foam pump systems, performed 3D coordination using Navisworks, and reviewed contracts and project scopes. Previously, at Western States Fire Protection, he served as a project manager and designer, overseeing the installation of fire suppression systems, managing materials, and designing water-based suppression systems.

A licensed fire protection engineer (PE) in Wyoming, Jesse is also NICET Level II certified in Water-Based Systems Layout. Beyond his technical expertise, he is actively involved in the fire protection community, serving as Vice President of the Colorado Fire Protection Association (CFPA) 2024/2025 Board of Directors.

Jesse holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University.
