Jonathan Bernal is a recent graduate of Oklahoma State University. He has more than three years’ hands-on technical experience as a fire alarm technician in New York City. This experience combined with several interships in the fire protection industry gives him a unique perspective from which to view not only the design of fire alarm system projects, but also the overall fire/life safety industry. Jonathan also served as a volunteer fire fighter for three years in Long Island, NY performing Heavy Rescue and Engine operations. 

During his time in academia he held several leadership roles in organizations such as the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Dean’s Diversity Advisory Board, and the Multicultural Greek Council. Jonathan is a fire protection consultant in the Las Vegas office.
