In his capacity as a regional director and senior fire protection consultant, Jorge manages the Los Angeles operations of TERPconsulting. Jorge’s specialties in the industry include 3rd party smoke control, fire alarm, and special suppression system testing, and the design and inspection of fire protection systems including fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems.

Jorge is a certified Deputy Smoke Control Inspector for the city of Los Angeles as well as having a Level III certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET). Jorge’s expertise includes the design of complete and/or conceptual fire alarm systems for all types of occupancies, specification development for the installation of fire alarm systems, rough and final inspections for fire alarms, smoke control, and special suppression systems. Additionally, he has experience conducting field surveys to evaluate existing fire alarms, special suppression, and smoke control systems for code compliance, and third-party testing of fire alarms, special suppression, and smoke control testing.

Project highlights of Jorge’s 30-year career include conducting smoke control testing on the tallest building in the Bay area, the Salesforce Tower in downtown San Francisco, as well as working on the fire alarm system commissioning of the Apple Campus 2 in Cupertino, CA. He also cites performing smoke control testing on the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles and the installation of a new fire alarm system at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, CA as career pinnacles.

Jorge has worked at some of the most well-known companies in the fire protection industry including Jensen Hughes, Schirmer Engineering/AON, Berg Electric, EST Service, and HCI Systems, Inc., all based in Los Angeles. In April 2019, Jorge joined TERPconsulting as a senior fire protection consultant, and in 2022, his role was expanded to regional director.

Jorge is a member of both the local and national chapters of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the California Automatic Fire Alarm Association (CAFAA).
