KIRK MONEY EARNS COVETED RAS DESIGNATION,
BECOMING CERTIFIED FOR ACCESSIBILITY CONSULTING IN TEXAS
TERPconsulting is pleased to congratulate Kirk Money for successfully earning his certification through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). The RAS certification is a Texas-specific professional designation for accessibility consulting that ensures compliance with the adopted state accessibility standards.
“Earning my RAS certification was both a challenging and rewarding experience,” said Kirk, TERPconsulting’s senior accessibility consultant, of passing the RAS exam. “It reinforces my commitment to helping clients design spaces that meet accessibility standards and create an inclusive built environment.”
Kirk’s RAS designation enables him to perform plan reviews of construction documents and to provide inspection services for both private and publicly funded buildings and facilities, verifying compliance with the provisions of the Texas Architectural Barriers Act (TABA), including the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS). Additionally, State of Texas (TDLR) licensed registered accessibility specialists are responsible for maintaining familiarity with Title 16, Texas Administrative Code, Architectural Administrative Rules, and Texas Government Code, Chapter 469, Elimination of Architectural Barriers Act.
TDLR’s RAS program is designed to meet the need for experienced, trained, and tested individuals who can inspect buildings and sites for compliance with applicable state and federal construction-related accessibility standards. Those certified in the RAS program are knowledgeable of state and federal accessibility laws and regulations and possess the expertise to promote access to facilities for people with disabilities.
In addition to his RAS certification, Kirk also holds an International Code Council (ICC) Accessibility Inspector and Plans Examiner designation. Kirk joined TERPconsulting in 2024 as a senior accessibility consultant.
Before joining TERPconsulting, Kirk was a Project Manager at Charles Abbott Associates from 2020 to 2024, where he provided plan review and inspection services, assisted with construction administration, and supported permit issuance for capital improvement projects. From 2013 to 2019, he served with the City of Littleton, Colorado, in various capacities, including Project Manager, Senior Plans Examiner, Plans Examiner, and Inspector.
