A former fire sprinkler contractor, Paul brings his fire suppression expertise to TERPconsulting. Using his skills in the design of commercial fire sprinkler systems, Paul deftly coordinates their installation with multiple stakeholders including the general contractor, owner, consultant, architect, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJs). To that end, Paul’s work on the sprinkler design for both the Denver Health Outpatient Medical Center and an undisclosed electric vehicle manufacturing facility near Austin, Texas are highlights of his fire protection career.

Paul joined TERPconsulting’s Denver office in the role of fire protection consultant in 2019. His responsibilities range from design and plan review to inspections and fire protection reports. In addition to fire sprinkler design, Paul’s other specialties in the fire protection field include plan review, hazardous materials, and cannabis facilities. He has been involved in many fire safety design projects for a range of sites, in the categories of assembly, commercial, cannabis, education, hotels and casinos, government and municipal, medical facilities, and schools.

Paul earned a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in business from Iowa State University and has his level I NICET certification in water-based systems. An engineer-in-training, Paul is a member of both the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and the Fire Marshal’s Association of Colorado (FMAC).
