FlyOver Las Vegas is an immersive virtual flight experience that features two 40-person theaters equipped with cutting-edge technology that delivers a fully immersive flying experience, with passengers strapped into motion-controlled seats in front of a 52-foot spherical screen. FlyOver’s theaters combine the large spherical screen with moving seats and sensory effects—including wind, mist, and scent—to simulate the exhilarating sensation of flight over natural wonders and world landmarks. Located in the former UA Movie Theater at Showcase Mall on the Las Vegas Strip, the approximately 30,000-square-foot space was transformed into this motion-ride attraction in late 2021. The remodel involved demolishing and reconstructing walls, doors, ceilings, and flooring, requiring modifications to the building’s fire protection systems. TERPconsulting ensured compliance with special amusement-building requirements, preparing a Tenant Improvement Fire Protection Report (TI FPR), egress plans, and a Request for Alternate Methods (RFAM). All work was completed in accordance with the 2018 International Building Code with Southern Nevada amendments (CCBC) and the 2018 International Fire Code with Clark County amendments (CCFC).
