Roger Rudy, PE

regional director and senior fire protection engineer

With more than 30 years of experience in fire protection engineering, Roger oversees TERPconsulting’s Philadelphia office and serves as a key technical leader across the firm. A well-rounded generalist, he has contributed to a diverse portfolio spanning suppression systems, smoke control, fire alarm design, and code consulting. Known for his adept problem-solving and steady technical leadership, Roger guides teams from concept through completion—identifying risk early, navigating complex regulatory environments, and engineering resilient solutions for large, high-profile building projects.

Before joining TERPconsulting, Roger spent two decades at EwingCole, where he most recently served as Director of Engineering. In that role, he led firmwide engineering initiatives across multiple disciplines, advancing technical standards, design integration, and operational excellence. He worked closely with architectural leadership to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, champion design quality, and support staff development and mentoring across the organization.

Roger is a licensed fire protection engineer in California, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington, DC. He is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (Philadelphia–Delaware Valley Chapter) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and a former member of the American Institute of Architects Large Firm Roundtable.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (Engineering Management) from the University of Tennessee.
