TERPconsulting ADDS TWO NEW TEAM MEMBERS JOEY MARTEL and MARIANNA PLATI

TERPconsulting is pleased to announce the addition of two new team members in key supporting roles. Joey Martel has joined our technical team as a Fire Protection Designer and member of the CAD Union, and Marianna Plati has joined our Operations team as an Operations Administrator.

“Joey and Marianna each bring valuable skills that strengthen how we support our clients and project teams. Joey’s technical aptitude and attention to detail enhance our design capabilities, while Marianna’s organizational expertise and analytical approach are a tremendous asset to our operations,” said Jim Begley, PE, TERPconsulting principal/founder. “Their additions reflect our continued investment in building a strong, well-rounded team, and we’re excited to have them at TERPconsulting.”

Joey Martel brings a unique blend of creativity, technical curiosity, and real-world experience to TERPconsulting. As the newest member of our CAD Union, Joey will specialize in AutoCAD and Revit, supporting the development of detailed fire protection drawings. Prior to joining TERPconsulting, he spent more than two decades in the hospitality industry before transitioning into fire protection drafting and design. His background in digital media—particularly video editing—helped cultivate the technical skills and problem-solving mindset he now applies to producing complex drawings for fire suppression, fire alarm, egress, sprinkler systems, high-piled storage, and smoke control systems.

Marianna Plati joins TERPconsulting’s Operations team with extensive organizational and administrative experience. She previously served as a Research Specialist at Edge Information Management, where she performed detailed data analysis and coordinated with courts and law enforcement agencies. Marianna also spent nearly a decade in an administrative role with the City of New York, supporting staff across multiple functions in a fast-paced environment. Earlier in her career, she gained industry-specific experience as an Administrative Assistant for a code consulting firm, providing valuable exposure to the fire and life safety consulting field.

In her role as Operations Administrator, Marianna brings analytical rigor and a strong service-oriented mindset to support TERPconsulting’s day-to-day operations and technical teams. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics with a minor in Business from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany.
