Troy Spiger, PE, is a seasoned fire protection engineer and sprinkler designer recognized for expertise and leadership in the field. His more than 30 years of experience includes managing multi-million-dollar projects highlighted by design and consulting on automatic fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire hazards analysis, general fire protection concepts, and building code principles. His BIM design and coordination proficiency has enabled seamless integration of fire protection systems into larger building projects.

Troy’s three-decade career in the fire protection industry is both diverse and impressive, spanning from his early days fabricating sprinkler pipe in his father’s shop as a teenager to serving as president of a 100+ employee fire sprinkler contracting company. Along the way, he has held key roles, including working at NASA’s Neil Armstrong Flight Research Center as a Fire Protection Engineer and Project Manager, managing a multi-discipline design team for a military contract, and running his own firm specializing in fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and mass notification design. His experience truly covers the full spectrum of the industry.

Throughout his career, Troy has contributed to various high-profile projects, including the Elvis Theater at ARIA Resort & Casino, Auric at Symphony Park, UnCommons Phase I, Primm Power Plant, and the MGM Sportsbook. His notable work at NASA includes the Mirror Recoating Facility for the SOFIA Program and the B703 Airborne Science Lab Remodel.

Having held significant roles in the public and private sectors, Troy brings a multifaceted perspective to every project. Before joining TERPconsulting, his experience included serving as Director of Operations at Focus Fire Protection. Previous to that role, he was Director of Engineering Services at On Guard Fire Protection providing consulting and fire alarm/suppression design for all types of projects and clients.

A licensed professional engineer in Arizona, California, and Nevada, Troy has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Washington State University.
