COLTON BALTHAZOR JOINS TERPconsulting’s PHOENIX TEAM

Colton Balthazar joins TERPconsulting

TERPconsulting is pleased to announce that Colton Balthazor has joined our Arizona team as a fire protection consultant, significantly enhancing the firm’s capabilities in the healthcare market. Colton brings his expertise in NFPA 101—Life Safety Code and NFPA 99—Health Care Facilities Code, along with a Life Safety Specialist for Healthcare Facility Managers (CLSS-HC) certification from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Before joining TERPconsulting, Colton was a safety specialist at Children’s Hospital Colorado. “I bring seven years of experience in fire and life safety code compliance, working with new and existing healthcare facilities throughout Colorado. My background includes commissioning new life safety systems and inspecting existing ones through site surveys and construction inspections,” Colton explained of his background.

Before his role as a safety specialist, Colton worked for the State of Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, spending five years as a Fire Inspector III – Plans Examiner, Wildland Fire Investigator, and Plan Review Unit Chief. In these roles, he conducted federal surveys for healthcare facilities, performed fire and life safety code-related plan reviews, and conducted on-site construction inspections for new and existing buildings. As Plan Review Unit Chief, he managed the plan review queue for all state-regulated facilities and participated in complex design coordination meetings for new construction projects across Colorado.

In his new role as a fire protection consultant on TERPconsulting’s Phoenix team, Colton is “committed to improving building safety for the public and excited to collaborate with our clients in the greater Phoenix area. This fast-growing region presents unique opportunities and challenges, and I’m eager to contribute to innovative projects and help shape the community’s future.”
