FIRE PROTECTION INDUSTRY VETERANS WAYNE GRISWOLD and STEVEN PARKER TO CO-PRESENT Alternate Methods & Materials SESSION AT 2023 FIRE LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE ON OCTOBER 19th

TERPconsulting’s Wayne Griswold, PE, CFPS and Steven Parker, EFO, FM, MS of Arvada Fire have been selected to co-present at the 2023 Fire Leadership Challenge (FLC) being held October 16-20 at the Keystone Conference Center, in Keystone, CO. Wayne and Steven’s 45-minute seminar is titled Alternate Methods & Materials – How the Engineer and AHJ Work Together and will be presented on Thursday, October 19 from 10:30 – 11:15 a.m.

“Our seminar will provide an overview of the International Fire Code allowances for alternate methods and materials to meet the prescriptive requirements of the code. We will also demonstrate how successful application of alternate methods and materials allowances requires an open dialogue between the engineer and the AHJ to ensure the intent of the code is met,” said Wayne, who is a principal fire protection engineer at TERPconsulting.

“This will be a dynamic presentation because Wayne and I will provide an interactive dialogue between a fire protection engineer and a fire code official based on our experiences. We will also provide recommended best practices to ensure a code-compliant outcome,” said Steven, who serves as the fire marshal at Arvada Fire.
