TERPconsulting WELCOMES SENIOR FIRE PROTECTION CONSULTANT JAMES TRIMBLE AND HEARING SERVICE DOG HOPPER TO DENVER TEAM

TERPconsulting WELCOMES SENIOR FIRE PROTECTION CONSULTANT JAMES TRIMBLE AND HEARING SERVICE DOG HOPPER TO DENVER TEAM

An image announcing Jimmy and Hopper. Welcome to the team! Denver, COTERPconsulting has welcomed James “Jimmy” Trimble as a senior fire protection consultant on its Denver team. Bringing more than a decade of fire prevention experience, Jimmy offers a valuable perspective shaped by his work on the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) side, where he has specialized in fire inspections, complex plan reviews, fire and life safety code compliance, and code development.

“Jimmy brings a valuable perspective to our team, having spent his career on the AHJ side of fire and life safety. His experience with complex plan reviews, code development, and inspections gives him a practical understanding of how code requirements are applied in the field,” said Wayne Griswold, PE, TERPconsulting’s Denver team lead. “We’re excited to welcome Jimmy to the team and look forward to the experience and insight he brings to our clients and projects.”

Before joining TERPconsulting, Jimmy served as Senior Fire Code Inspector and Compliance Unit Supervisor for the Colorado Springs Fire Department. His responsibilities included reviewing and inspecting new construction, managing the City’s fire protection system inspection, testing, and maintenance program, and participating in code development and legislative activities. He chaired the Fire Code Committee during Colorado Springs’ adoption of the 2021 International Fire Code and contributed to local code amendments, including provisions addressing the state’s Wildland-Urban Interface requirements.

Jimmy’s career highlights include projects at Universal Studios’ Epic Universe, the smoke control/building automation system for the 800,000-plus-square-foot Orange County Convention Center, the U.S. Air Force Academy Welcome Center, and the Ford Amphitheater in Colorado Springs. His certifications include Colorado (DFPC) Fire Inspector III, ICC Fire Inspector I and II, ICC Fire Plans Examiner, ProBoard Fire Inspector I and II, and ProBoard Fire Plans Examiner I.

MEET HOPPER TRIMBLE, CHIEF ALERT OFFICER

Jimmy isn’t the only new addition to the Denver team. His hearing service dog, Hopper Trimble, is also joining the TERPconsulting team.

Hopper, a hearing service dog from Canine Companions, helps Jimmy stay aware of his surroundings by alerting him to important sounds he might otherwise miss. When he’s on duty, Hopper takes his job seriously. When off duty, however, he has a different agenda: sleeping, eating, collecting as many pets as possible, and taking long walks to sniff every blade of grass along the way.

Hopper’s work helps Jimmy navigate his day with greater awareness and independence, while his companionship brings plenty of joy. We’re delighted to welcome both Jimmy and Hopper to TERPconsulting—and suspect our newest Chief Alert Officer will make sure the Denver team stays on its toes!
