Joe Chacon, PE, has joined TERPconsulting as a fire protection engineer. Joe has more than 17 years’ experience and was founder and owner of FLS Engineering from 2008 to 2018. In his role as fire protection engineer, Joe provided building/fire code consulting services, hydraulic analysis with AutoSPRINK 12, hazmat materials consulting, hazard analysis and risk assessments, and the design and testing of fire protection and life safety systems.
In addition to being a professional fire protection engineer, Joe is also a firefighter for the City of Henderson, NV. As a firefighter, Joe performs fire and rescue operations, responds to hazmat materials incidents as part of the regional hazardous materials team, and conducts building inspections to develop pre-plans and identify target hazards. Joe began his engineering career in 2001 at Schirmer Engineering in Las Vegas, NV.
Joe is a registered professional fire protection engineer in seven states. He holds his Master of Science in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
As a result of Joe’s new position, TERPconsulting and FLS Engineering have merged. Together, we are committed to providing fire life safety excellence with a client-centric focus on fire protection engineering.
