WAYNE GRISWOLD, PE, CFPS, TO PRESENT AT SFPE ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHAPTER MEETING ON MARCH 13th

Wayne Griswold, PE, is presenting ‘Hazardous Occupancies - You're Going to Do What!?’ at the SFPE Rocky Mountain Chapter meeting on Thursday from 12–1: 30 p.m. Wayne Griswold, PE, CFPS, will present “Hazardous Occupancies – You’re Going to Do What!?” at the SFPE Rocky Mountain Chapter meeting on Thursday, March 13, from 12–1:30 p.m. The presentation will be at Merrick HQ, 8051 E. Maplewood Avenue, Greenwood Village.

“By their very nature, hazardous occupancies are dangerous and warrant additional scrutiny from a fire/life safety engineering, design, and enforcement perspective. My presentation will discuss the methodologies for determining if an occupancy is to be considered hazardous in conjunction with reviewing maximum allowable quantities as defined by the IBC and IFC,” said Wayne, a principal fire protection engineer at TERPconsulting, of next month’s presentation.

In addition, Wayne will outline the role of a hazardous material inventory statement (HMIS) and the use of building control areas. Wayne’s presentation will focus on implementing ancillary suppression and detection systems often utilized by H-occupancies while discussing common sense approaches and sequences of operations to best protect common H-occupancy applications.
