The Cromwell

About This Project

This standalone boutique resort marks a partnership between Caesars Entertainment and night life mogul Victor Drai, whose after-hours nightclub has been a mainstay at the former Bill’s Gambling’ Hall & Saloon location for the past 15 years. This renovated and expanded property touts 188 guest rooms with 19 suites in a Parisian apartment-style theme and, with views unlike any other in the world, a 65,000 square-foot Drai’s Beach Club and Nightclub set alongside the property’s new rooftop pool. Also featured will be a 40,000 square-foot casino, a redesigned lobby bar, an ultra-lounge, 2nd-floor feature restaurant, porte-cochere entrance, and a 368 stall, three-level parking structure.

TERPconsulting was the Fire Protection Engineer of record for the project with services including preparation of Fire Protection Report, Request for Alternate Method reports, conceptual design of fire pump system, and development of a smoke control/removal strategy for the renovated building. The renovation includes a large two-story rooftop addition for Drai’s Nightclub & Beachclub that required the installation of new pressurized exit stairways. Following our design work, we also performed smoke control quality assurance agency (QAA) testing to confirm proper operation of smoke control and removal systems. TERPconsulting also outlined the liquid nitrogen fog effects protection criteria for Drai’s nightclub.
