Long Beach Civic Center
Long Beach, CA
Market: Municipal
Project Scope: Smoke Control Special Inspections and Acceptance Testing
Completed in 2019 at a cost of $520 million, the Long Beach City Hall and Port Headquarters buildings are the defining elements of the Long Beach Civic Center Master Plan. Revitalizing 22 acres of downtown Long Beach, the mixed-use district includes two 11-story buildings: the 270,000-square-foot City Hall and 232,000-square-foot Port Headquarters. TERPconsulting performed smoke control special inspections and acceptance testing required for the City Hall and Port buildings at 411 and 415 West Ocean Boulevard. The smoke control system serving the towers and below-grade garage required a special inspection in accordance with Long Beach Building & Fire Codes (LBBC/LBFC) Section 909.
