TERPconsulting performed fire/life safety code consulting services involving the modification of an existing geothermal energy generating production facility. As part of the entitlement process, a condition of approval required a certified fire protection engineer to survey the existing proposed fire suppression and detection systems. The 26 MW power facility included fire detection and alarm, fire suppression including fire flow water, special suppression systems, gas detection systems, and fire department access and water supplies. The analysis identified applicable codes and basic fire/life safety code requirements in accordance with the 2019 California Building Code (CBC), 2019 California Fire Code (CFC), CCR Title 19, and applicable NFPA Standards 25, 72, 850, and 2001.
