Ely State Prison
Ely, NV
Market: Municipal
Project Scope: Fire Alarm Design
TERPconsulting designed the replacement for the existing fire alarm and detection system serving Ely State Prison, which measures approximately 230,000 ft2 and consists of 18 buildings, including four towers, a work and recreation building measuring 48,600 ft2, a services building measuring 56,500 ft2, a 1,680-square-foot armory, a trustee dormitory at 3,600 ft2, and eight housing units. Ely State Prison’s fire alarm and detection system was installed in 2004 and had become outdated due to a lack of support and availability for the fire alarm panels and devices. TERPconsulting designed the replacement of the existing fire alarm and detection system with modern, code-compliant solutions per NFPA 72 — National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
